This holiday season, we’re reflecting on what a year it’s been, as well as giving ourselves a well-deserved break before embarking on more exciting projects in 2022. The past 12 months have proven that nothing stays stagnant and our ability to adapt to these ever-changing environments has impacted the way many businesses currently operate. With more restrictions and distance keeping people apart, our reliance on technology has grown as well as investing in online systems that help to keep us connected. For our team, we’ve seen growth around the adoption of online learning, which has been cultivated from the need for increased flexibility for people working around different schedules.
In 2021 we’ve expanded more of our work into the education sector in Australia, where the use of online learning is driven by determining how better to engage learners with content being delivered virtually. We’re looking forward to beginning new partnerships with clients who share the same passion to give learners a dynamic experience that benefits the learners to meet organisational needs. For that reason, one of our overarching themes in the content we’ve created has been around the theme of learning and wellbeing in education.
2021 has provided a climate to encourage the digitisation of other things outside of learning. Collins’ Dictionary Word of the Year for 2021 was ‘NFT’, an abbreviation for non-fungible token: a unique digital certificate, registered in a blockchain, that is used to record ownership of an asset such as an artwork or a collectible. The introduction and popularity of NFTs demonstrates the evident shift towards entirely digital realms such as the metaverse. This idea contributes to elearning because as users, we need to adapt to this technology and understand what the benefits of digitisation are for us. In one of our recent blog posts, we discussed what a Digital Learning Strategy is and how your organisation can begin to transition your learning to be fully online. Being an early adopter of online learning and investing in good learning design can help keep your business functioning efficiently while in circumstances, such as a global pandemic.
Alongside that, Wavelength has experienced some exciting growth and change of our own. We’ve welcomed new team members, who help to discover, design and deliver great digital learning solutions across our client base. We’ve had great success in the awards sphere, by winning three 2021 Gold LearnX Live! Awards for our School Refusal module and being shortlisted for the 2022 Learning Excellence Awards UK. We recognise and celebrate the incredible work we’ve created over the past year, considering the circumstances that have kept some of us physically apart. We believe that it’s important to come together and connect over the highlights our team has experienced over the past year and keep that energy for what’s to come in the new year.
With Covid-19 still at the helm, 2022 will still be a year of continuous shifts, and we acknowledge that this has the potential to cause more disruption in our regular routines. We’re focused on expanding and elevating our offerings to continue helping organisations design online learning that closes the gap between the learner and engaging with the content. Our activity in 2022 will be working towards providing more digital content that helps to educate and stimulate conversations around both the current trends as well as forecasting the future of e-learning.
Over the 20 years of Wavelength, we’ve won over 20 awards, because we know that what we accomplish deserves to be recognised among other industry leaders around the world.
